Donor conception is using sperm, eggs or embryos in your fertility treatment which have been donated by someone else. Around 2,000 babies in the UK are born each year using donated sperm, eggs or embryos. The experience of people who have had donor-conceived children shows that this can be a very positive way to create a family.
Egg Donation is used in IVF (in-vitro fertilisation) or ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) treatments and it involves stimulation of the donor’s ovaries to produce a number of eggs that are retrieved and then fertilised by your partner’s or donor’s sperm. The embryos that are created this way can be transferred into your womb so you can carry and deliver the baby. Egg Donation can be considered or is usually recommended in women with ovarian failure or in cases of repeated IVF/ICSI failure due to poor quality eggs as the treatment would be unlikely to be successful if you were to use your own eggs. Another reason might be also if you have no ovaries or have had them removed; you have had cancer treatment which has damaged your ovaries; you are post-menopausal; you are producing few or low-quality eggs; you have had several recurrent miscarriages or you have a high risk of passing on a serious inherited disorder.
GENNET City Fertility has two options to help couples that are in need of egg donation treatment. There are no waiting times and you can start your treatment straight away. Our egg donation treatment is offered either through GENNET in Prague, Czech Republic, or in London with GENNET City Fertility. Please note that in the case of treatment through GENNET in Prague, patients are only required to be available in Prague for the Embryo Transfer as all sperm samples will be transported ahead of time and free of charge.
